RELATIONAL LEADERS ALWAYS FOCUS on “why they do what they do.” When it comes to relationships, the biggest challenge that they face is making sure that all of the relationships they are developing and supporting connect to some aspect of meaning and performance. Of course, this challenge is bound like everything else in life by time, everyone’s most nonrenewable resource. Whenever I struggle with how I am spending my time, I challenge myself with the following five questions:
1. Who do I want to be?
2. How do I want to be perceived? ...
