The days of actually needing a professional studio in order to get professional results are long gone. What is achievable with a very modest set-up today would have been utterly unthinkable in anything but a pro studio ten years ago. With the increases in computing power and the corresponding increase in the quality of plug-ins, there are now more and more professional studios that rely quite heavily on plug-ins as well as on their collection of vintage outboard equipment.
