MANAGEMENT IS NOT A PROGRESSIVE SCIENCE. IF IT WERE, some sunny day, we would have the perfect theory of management. This is, of course, nonsense. In reality, leadership theories revolve around a specific set of dilemmas. These dilemmas don’t change; they are more or less eternal. The answers will often be new ones, reflecting a changing business environment, but the relevant questions are the same. This chapter presents the dilemmas and the answers when they meet the future.
