Introduction

Social exchange theory is one of the most influential conceptual frameworks for understanding behaviour in organizations (Cropanzano & Mitchell, 2005) and a dominant theoretical framework to understanding the employee-organization relationship (Coyle-Shapiro & Conway, 2004).
