You’re in charge

Sometimes fate can deal you a terrible blow. That’s fate for you – nothing you can do about it. It’s capricious, and if it wants to pick on you, you just have to suck it up. There are many belief systems that tell you there’s no free will, and you are indeed a victim of fate. They may or may not be right, but the trouble with that attitude is that feeling like a victim isn’t much fun. It leaves you vulnerable, wondering when and where the next blow will strike, and helpless to do anything about it.
