Present a united front

If you asked your boss for an extra day’s holiday and they said ‘No’, you’d be disappointed but you’d put up with it. After all, it’s not as if you’re entitled to it. But suppose you then asked your boss’s boss, who said ‘Yes, of course, no problem’. Now where does that leave you all?

You’re not sure whether it’s OK to take a day off or not. But you are sure that your boss’s opinion doesn’t count for much. And if your boss ever says no to you again, you know where to go.
