As you start on your sourcing journey, it is important to define your goals and expectations. This may sound self-evident, but a clear definition of what you hope to achieve through offshoring may be more elusive than you might think. For example:
• Are you looking primarily to take costs out of your current operations?
• Do you want to improve operations?
• Is your ultimate goal to change the ways you do business fundamentally, and to create a whole new universe of possibilities?
There’s no one “right answer,” of course. But the goal you set for your business will point toward the type of sourcing deal you should pursue, and will define the relationship you ultimately enter into with your service delivery provider.
