Glossary and Acronyms
AGM: Annual General Meeting. Publicly traded corporations are required by the Securities and Exchange Commission to hold a general meeting of shareholders to elect a board of directors, disclose financial information, and inform shareholders of past and future activities.
AUM: Assets Under Management. The market value of all assets managed on behalf of clients by a brokerage, mutual fund, venture capital fund, or other financial institution.
B-Corp: A private certification issued to for-profit companies by B Lab, a US-based non-profit organization. To be granted and to preserve certification, companies must receive a minimum score on an online assessment for social and environmental performance.
