What is a Commercial?
A commercial is (ironically) not necessarily the selling of a product, but the selling of an experience that the product is going to bring you. My favorite recent commercial is the Old Spice commercial where clearly the guy is saying, “Ladies, you want your man to smell like me? Here are tickets to that show you like, whatever the show is.” So, it’s less about your buying Old Spice and more about your buying the experience Old Spice will provide.
