Importing and Exporting a Drawing

Designers are frequently given a two-dimensional (2D) hand sketch, plotted construction document set (CDs), CAD (DWG/DXF) file, or a Revit (RVT) file to create their SketchUp designs. When those imports into SketchUp are done, we trace on top of the content to create three-dimensional (3D) models. Conversely, sometimes, we create the draft in SketchUp and might need to export a view to AutoCAD or Revit.

Other times, a SketchUp model is received that requires some touch-ups before tackling the project. Knowing where to start with someone else’s work will alleviate stress.
