Practicing to Be a Service-Based
Project Leader
INTRODUCTION
Millions of dollars are spent each year on training services—most of
whichdo little to improve employee productivity. Training is a good last
step in bringing about personal change, but not a very good rst step.

Instead, to reinforce the change process, the project leader should form
a learning agenda to engrain new project leadership attitudes, skills, and
behaviors. A learning agenda focuses on development, rather than remedi-
