It isn’t easy finding good engineering talent. You can try the classifieds, but the response may be disappointing. The best sources seem to come from either professional referral or from hiring and working with interns, some of whom will rise to the position later on.

So here’s a perfect example of the advantage gained in making friends and contacts with the competition. A personal relationship with other studio owners and managers around town may be instrumental in digging up the talent you’re looking for.
