Line-up of Camera Channels

Camera performance tends to change with time and temperature, so periodic re-adjustments are necessary to restore it to a standard condition and avoid colour quality variations during a production. These ‘line-up’ readjustments may be carried out manually, semi-automatically, or entirely automatically.

To achieve consistently good pictures from a television camera, line-up is required. Modern lightweight cameras need little adjustment on a day-to-day basis, but do need to be white-balanced every time they are switched on.
