CHAPTER 4 Undesirable Truths

Consider everything you hold to be the truth right now. How much of it is set in stone as hard facts and how much of it is your BS (belief system!)?

Obviously, you can't change things like the time and place of your birth or your genetic makeup, but after that, there are so few limitations. Can you change your sex? Yes. Can you change your name? Yes. Can you change your nationality? Yes. Such changes may not always be easy to accomplish, but they are all achievable if you really set your mind and heart on the outcome.

There is so much that you can do, no matter what you currently think. As Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're probably right.” The first step to achieving anything is to believe you can do it.

Where do our thoughts and beliefs come from? Most of us were raised with a barrage of so-called facts that were thrown at us on a daily basis, almost from birth. If we never challenge those alleged facts, we are living in other people's shoes, believing other people's truths and not carving out our own path in life. You may challenge something you were raised to believe and find that you agree with it. That's fine…as long as you've questioned it and reached your own independent conclusion.
