“We just don’t have the budget for that.”
“Your price is a lot higher than we expected to pay.”
“The freelancer we used before only charged half that amount.”
There’s no getting around it. If you’re going to quote a professional rate for your freelance services, you’re going to meet with some price resistance. It goes with the territory. In fact, if you’re getting no resistance when you quote a ballpark price, your fees are probably too low! As legendary freelancer Bob Bly once told me, “You want a prospect to agree to your price, but not too quickly!”
