Sensible Thermal Energy Storage

Abstract

Thermal energy in the form of sensible heat can be effectively stored and redistributed through the incorporation of passive and active storage methodologies. The excess heat energy that is available during supply periods can be suitably stored to satisfy the demand side during on-peak load conditions. The thermal performance of sensible heat storage can be enhanced through the proper selection and integration of storage materials (solid or liquid) either with the fabric component in buildings or solar thermal collectors.
