The concept of constitutive equations is strictly linked with the modeling in two-phase nuclear thermal-hydraulics. This is specifically true for the commonly adopted “unequal-velocity, unequal-temperature” (UVUT) models. Constitutive equations or closure models are embedded into balance equations.
