The new generation of professionals is often accused of switching jobs too often, and some say that these people expect too much of their employers. In 2008, author Ron Alsop called generation Y “trophy kids,” pointing to a trend in competitive sports and many other areas for frequent participation to be enough to earn someone a reward. Some employers feel that this is an issue in corporate environments and are concerned that millennials’ expectations of the workplace are too high.
