AIM A tool designed to stimulate questions in Step 3: What’s the Question? AIM is an acronym that stands for A dvantages, I mpediments, M aybes. Its purpose is to generate a list of all the Advantages of achieving a given Target Future, all the Impediments to achieving that Target Future, and all the additional unknowns, possibilities, or spin-offs (the Maybes) that might arise if the Target Future were achieved. The resulting list is rephrased as a series of “How might I . . .” or “How might we . . .” questions.

Align Resources Step 6 of the Productive Thinking Model. In this step, preliminary action plans and responsibilities are determined. The outcome of this phase is a platform for action.
