Change for the sake of change should be avoided
People may resist changing the way they go about doing their work, and activities that promote change tend to be an addition to everyone’s workload. Work out detailed action plans for all your change projects.
Before deciding on an action plan, make sure that you have defined exactly what each change project is trying to achieve and by when. Make the objectives as tight and as specific as possible and ensure that they conform to SMART, a useful acronym that defines objectives as:
