8.1. Using the Windows Event Viewer
This exercise examines the Windows Event Viewer described in the “Windows Security Basics” section of this chapter. Access to a Windows NT or Windows 2000 system is required.

1. | Launch the Event Viewer. On Windows NT Systems, click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Event Viewer. On Windows 2000 Systems, click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. Double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click the Event Viewer icon. |
