The superb Eicher City Map street atlas covers the entire city in brilliant and reliable detail and is widely available. An alternative is the Freytag & Berndt New Delhi map, which is only slightly less detailed but only goes as far south as Safdarjung’s Tomb.

Useful sites include the Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation (DTTDC) (www.delhitourism.nic.in) and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) (www.asi.nic.in); www.thedelhiwalla.com is great for offbeat views of the city.
