Scientist Otto Overbeck lived in this house until 1937. Many of his eccentric inventions, such as a “rejuvenating machine”, share space with exhibits on local history. The garden has exotic plants and offers superb coastal views (for further details see Overbeck’s Museum).
Cornwall’s county museum addresses local geology and culture, with collections of insects on display alongside Roman coins found in the area. Buddhist figures from Burma and an unwrapped Egyptian mummy are also on show (for further details see Royal Cornwall Museum).
