Getting Around Istanbul

1. Taxis

A licensed taxi (taksi) is yellow and shows a light on top when available for hire. Before you set off, always check that the meter is switched on. Ask a local what the fare should be and haggle hard (for further details see Unscrupulous Cab Drivers). There should be no change in taxi prices from day to night.
