1. When to Go

Moscow has mild summers and cold, but often sunny, winters. The best time to visit is from June to September, when temperatures rise to around 20°C (68°F). They drop to an average of -10°C (14°F) between December and March.

2. What to Pack

Bring plenty of layers in winter, thermal leggings and gloves, a warm hat, and waterproof footwear. Pack T-shirts and shorts for the summer heat, although you may need long sleeves and trousers to enter some churches and monasteries. Insect repellent will also come in handy.
