Korea’s National Museum is, by far, the country’s most important repository of historical artifacts. Once housed in the grounds of Gyeongbokgung Palace, it moved in 2005 to a state-of-the-art facility on land previously owned by the American Army. A trove of treasures, it gives visitors a chronological tour through Korean history – from the Paleolithic to the Three Kingdoms period, and then through the Silla, Goryeo, and Joseon dynasties.
