Middle Managers’ Expectations of Their TMT
To get an insight as to whether the scores of the middle managers on the various dimensions differed from each other, we performed t-tests between every pair of dimensions. Middle managers’ expectations were highest for the dimensions of moral leadership (score 4.32) and strategic leadership (score 4.27), and these two dimensions did not significantly differ from each other. We found TMT unity (score 4.05) to be significantly less important and connectedness (score 3.92) again significantly less important than unity. Connectedness and company results (score 3.90) did not differ from each other. These results can also be seen in Table 5.1.
