One Woman in a Man’s World
Eva Zaccaria had only been on the job for a few months as sports director at WICZ-TV in Binghamton, New York. In that relatively short period of time, she’d already gotten an ample dose of what it’s like to be working as a woman in a man’s world. There had been the sexual innuendos from the athletes she’d had to interview, the “creepy” postings on Facebook and Twitter, the suggestion from her boss that she “lighten her hair,” and the overriding theme that tends to be associated with most women sportscasters: the assertion that you’re not going to know as much about sports as a man.
