MAJOR PUBLIC HEALTH CHALLENGES FORAFRICAN COUNTRIES

The African countries are facing major challenges in the area of public health. Generally speaking, the health situation appears to be closely related to the country's socio-economic circumstances. A very high prevalence of poverty combined with a very low level of literacy correlates with alarming health indicators in such areas as infant mortality and life expectancy.
