Training needs and training needs analysis can be defined as follows:
“…a gap which exists between the true requirement of a given job and the present capabilities of the incumbent. So, the assessment of training needs is to understand the gap between what is happening in the organization and what must happen in terms of managers’ behavior according to their knowledge, skills and attitudes. In other words, MTD (management training development) needs exist when an employee lacks the knowledge or skills to perform an assigned task satisfactorily. The objective of training needs assessment is to collect and evaluate information in order to determine what is currently being done and what should be done in the future” ...
