Validating Success with a Field Test
Organizing a field test is a final opportunity to ensure that your design performs to your learners’ expectations. The field test takes place at the conclusion of the Production phase, when the entire learning solution is basically finished (see Figure 11.1). The field test actually becomes an extension of the Production phase. During the field test, you gather data to correct any deficiencies in the solution. Just as in the learner tryout, you should turn to the best possible source for this data—the people who have to learn from your solution.
