Exploring transliteracy

Abstract

In this chapter, the concept of transliteracy is grounded in research data. The conceptual model of transliteracy is presented, showing key capabilities which form transliteracy. Questions of what constitutes transliteracy, how people experience transliteracy, and what it contributes to their learning and knowledge production are investigated in detail. Working with a multiplicity of resources and flexible ways of working with others are considered as defining aspects of transliteracy, leading to a number of shifts in the process of learning and knowledge production.
