Chapter 12. Routing and Remote Access

Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS) allows you to configure Windows servers to perform a host of networking tasks. A server can be configured as a remote access server (RAS), for example, allowing users to dial in to the company network using modems on their laptops. With RRAS, a server can be configured to provide Internet access using Network Address Translation (NAT), to act as a router, or to act as a virtual private network (VPN) server that can allow users to access company resources via an encrypted tunnel through the Internet.
