The Architecture Development Methodology

The Architecture Development Methodology (ADM) is the heart of TOGAF. The methodology assumes that the discipline of EA is a continuous set of processes. Like "financial management" is an on-going set of processes aimed at producing the company's financial statements and managing the company's assets, the ADM provides management structure for EA.

The following figure represents the model used to explain the ADM. This model is famous for being called the "crop circles" model. It gets its name from looking like the "crop circles" that some believe were made by space visitors (others believe these were really produced by humans).
