Chapter 6 Three progressive case studies – Developing stronger codes of ethics with external verification

In this chapter, I share three examples of important progression for meaningful codes of ethics. First, the Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations (US), which uses self-assessment and peer review. Second, the National Council for Voluntary Organizations (UK), which uses self-assessment and external verification. And third, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, which uses self-assessment, expert review, and sanctions when warranted.
