3.1 INTRODUCTION

Tubular flows represent a class of stagnation flows that satisfy mathematical similarity.1 Generally speaking, flow is introduced into a tube or tubular annulus radially and the flow exits axially. Tubular flows and flames can be established in several ways, as illustrated in Fig. 3.1. For example, the initial theory was established using purely radial injection through a porous wall as shown in Fig. 3.1(a).
