6-STEP CHECKLIST WORKSHEET
The following checklist will help guide the parties in holding powerful learning conversations. It can be used before and during the conversation to help keep the purpose clear, the conversation safe, and the preferred outcome in sight.
For help with beginning the conversation, see “Possible Openings” on page 186.
1. Center: How will I remind myself to center before the conversation, and to re-center periodically during the conversation?
2. Purpose: What is my purpose? Is it a useful purpose?
3. Inquiry: What are some honest, open-ended questions I might ask my partner? What do I need to learn about how he or she sees this situation?
