HTTP/2 

HTTP/2 gives significant enhancements and focuses more on improving the usage of TCP connections. The following are some major enhancements as compared to HTTP/1.1:

  • Compression and binary framing: HTTP/2 has header compression inbuilt in order to reduce the footprint of HTTP headers that can grow in kilobytes (say, for example, cookies). It also controls headers that are repeated across multiple requests and responses. Also, the client and the server maintain a list of frequently visible fields along with their compressed values, so when these fields are repeated, the individual simply includes the reference to the compressed value.
