Monitoring tools 

In this section, we will look at some of the available tools for monitoring and how those tools help us to solve different monitoring challenges. When monitoring a microservice, we are mostly interested in hardware resources and application metrics:

  Hardware resources

Memory utilization metrics

The amount of memory that is consumed by the application, such as RAM utilization, hard disk occupied, and so on.

CPU utilization metrics

How much percentage of total available CPU memory is it using at a given time.

Disk Utilization metrics

The I/O memory in a hard drive, such as swap space, available space, used space, and so on.
