UML 1.1 was submitted to the OMG in August, 1997, and adopted by the OMG in November, 1997.[109] UML version 2.0 was then adopted in two parts in 2005: The UML 2.0 Infrastructure defines the foundational language constructs.[110] UML 2.0 Superstructure defines the user level constructs.[111] The two complementary specifications constitute a complete specification for the UML 2.0 modeling language.
