Basic Features
This initial chapter reviews the most important features of modern digital cameras. Its purpose is both to explain some of the options that are probably offered by your own digital camera and to highlight the sorts of features that you should think about when the time comes to upgrade to a new model. For the benefit of new buyers there is very brief advice regarding how to go about making that tricky first purchase and also a table, at the end of the chapter, summarizing the features and typical capabilities of different types of digital cameras.
