A federation refers to two or more organizations establishing trust relationships to facilitate direct integration of business. With a federated relationship, identity information and entitlements are shared and provisioned in a trusted fashion across partners. An authenticated user of one organization, called the identity provider, can access other federation partners, called service providers, seamlessly.
