Since many of us have accumulated a substantial portion of our financial assets in tax-deferred accounts [401(k), IRA, SEP, etc.], the question arises as to which, if any, option strategies are permitted in these accounts. The answer is, it depends. And what it depends on, is your brokerage firm. Table 25-1 represents a partial survey of brokerage firms and the option strategies they allow in tax-deferred accounts.
