Providing Suggestions
SearchBox
has built-in support for four kinds of suggestions to help users find what they’re looking for faster:
→ History suggestions
→ Query suggestions
→ Local content suggestions
→ Result suggestions
History Suggestions
By default, SearchBox
remembers every query a user ever submitted within your app, even across sessions. It uses this to show matching suggestions as the user types, as shown in Figure 14.6. The user can tap a suggestion, or navigate to it with the keyboard and press Enter. When this happens, the current query is set to that suggestion, and the query is submitted.
