WE HOPE YOU ENJOYED READING UnLeadership! We've had a lot of fun writing it and speaking about leadership with so many incredible people. Of course, there are many leaders who have inspired and guided us who are not included in this book and beyond that, countless more outside our knowledge or vision. UnLeadership is a collection of stories that make up what leadership means to us today, and we encourage you to find your own. The leaders we interviewed all shared the traits of curiosity, humility, and empathy; a desire, driven by values, to move others toward a better human experience. For every leader we've spoken to and learned from, there were countless others who inspired and shaped their journey: parents and teachers, pioneers, authors and researchers, bosses and coworkers, partners, and others who collaborated, challenged, and shaped how each saw and experienced the world of work.

UnLeadership is about vision, seeing something—a big idea, a framework, a solution—and leaning into that vision with curiosity. UnLeadership is about communication—taking that vision, and sharing it with others in a way that makes it seem possible and doable, that brings others onboard as collaborators. UnLeadership is about accountability, not reward; it is about being in service to others.
