About the Authors

Dan McDonnell began his career at Multilin, a small high-tech firm in Canada,

where he rose through myriad manufacturing assignments to the level of vice

president of Operations, and where he started his Lean journey. He spent

14 years with the General Electric Company, where he served as a plant man-

ager, and eventually as a manufacturing general manager for 11 different facto-

ries. He most recently served for 3 years as the manager of the Lean Initiative for

GE Transportation where his deep experience with 3P really began. McDonnell

is currently the vice president of Operational Excellence for Ingersoll Rand.
