“I’m not sure; maybe we should find out where they think we’ll be in three
years and make sure we have capacity for that. What do you think, Ken?”
“I’m confident that your facility expansion can accommodate the projected
increase in demand for the next ten years at least, with continuous improve-
ment and workplace compression. Normally, we wouldn’t recommend plan-
ning for any more than the next 12–18 months. We can reduce takt time and
develop another production scenario pretty quickly when volume increases
after that. I suggest we plan our process here for the 40,000-a- year rate.”
