Becoming (More) Effective
EatUp had been producing a restaurant solution to handle everything from front-of-house point of sale to inventory management for many years. Unfortunately, the company’s comprehensive, robust product was becoming old and outdated. Its largest competitor was taking some of its market share with a more modern user interface and a system that was much easier to use.
To keep up with the competition, EatUp strategically focused 80 percent of its finances on a complete rewrite of its product, making it like new. After two years, the company had a bare-bones solution ready to deliver to its customers. But even then, the solution was far behind what its competitors offered and missed key features customers desired.
