How to do it...

One of the easiest ways to combine materials together is through the Merge Actors tool:

  1. From the Unreal Editor, select the object with the model you want to bake. In this recipe's case, we'll select the SM_MatPreviewMesh object.
  2. Go to Window | Developer Tools | Merge Actors:

  1. From the menu that pops up, under Mesh Settings, set the LODSelection Type to Use specific LOD level.
  2. Under Material Settings, check the Merge Materials option:
