Chapter 42Social Media by the Dozen
In UnMarketing, we went through some of the basics on the biggies in social media sites: Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.1 When we talk about UnSelling, social media is a powerful tool to listen and connect. It's just that: a tool—like your website or your phone. Awesome things can happen in business, and sometimes those happen through social media sites.
There are new sites every day. Some grow to become user favorites, habitual stops during their day to share, connect, and learn. Others come and go just as quickly.
Your market is there. If your niche market includes humans, they are using social media. From millennials to our moms, people are online being social every day. And they are talking about your product or services, your competitors, and your industry. You can either be a part of the conversation or not.
